NJ’s favorite bastard sons Doc Rotten are back with another solid boots-and-booze rocker. “Sick & Suffering,” the title track from the latest EP, calls attention to the opioid crisis plaguing the nation, particularly in their poverty-stricken backyard of Trenton, NJ. Belting out yet another number fired up by their love for ‘77 punk, the boys are here to let you know that the countless souls trapped in the gallows of opioid and heroin addiction aren’t bad people — they’re ill, damaged individuals who need help.
Director – Andy Zielinski
Second Unit Director – Jacki Garrison
Lyrics:
I hear the cries from the ones in the mission
They’re covered in scabs worship needle like religion
My arrogance my pride says I could change them all
But they don’t wanna change they just wanna handout
Their appearance says their beat but they haven’t figured out
So I feed ‘em lunch and be on my way
Then I say they may just need some more pain
Once again in the end it is so bright
We say we won even though it was in spite
We part our ways wash our hand of it
Leave ‘em in the wind
Still sick and suffering
Still hear their cries echo in the distance
I cover my ears show my signs of resistance
Read between their lies, their excuses now that’s their downfall
Can’t change the world I can only change mine
I look in the mirror self reflecting all the time
Gotta cut my ties and go my own way
Cuz I guess they just like the cold taste of pain
Once again in the end it is so bright
We say we won even though it was in spite
We part our ways wash our hand of it
Leave ‘em in the wind
Still sick and suffering
Once again in the end it is so bright
We say we won even though it was in spite
We part our ways wash our hand of it
Leave ‘em in the wind
Still sick and suffering
