Artist Biography: Morbidly infectious punks from the trenches of southwest UK. Strength in Blunders combine snot nosed punk rock with unforgettable hooks and despondent satire.
Strength in Blunders have been slowly building up a bit of a reputation over the two years. Their influence are a scatter gun of musical reference that crosses time and genre. If there is a punk reference, it is from the tipping point where the original movement began to morph into New Wave, post-punk…call it what you will, but for me the more interesting and experimental expression of the time. Think Magazine or Husker Du rather than anything coming out of the first wave of London Brit-punk. But as much as they build foundations using the building blocks of the past, they also are clearly a band of the here and now and many of their songs would seem right at home if they turned up on a compilation album sandwiched between tracks by Hot Water Music or the heavier end of Alkaline Trio. In October 2013 they released their self financed debut album ‘Life at Midnight’ including songs written in the previous 12 months, the album was well received by critics as being a natural blend of pop punk, grunge and ska. 2014 has been a busy year for the band, touring all over of the UK including dates overseas, supporting such heroes such as UK Subs, GBH and Stiff Little Fingers to name a few.
The band are currently writing and demoing their second album due out in early 2015 as well as booking a European tour to promote the album.
