Having received rave reviews for their debut feature, This Is Voltaire (EP, 2008) and their nationwide radio single, „Could You Try To Speak in a Higher Register“ (2009), THE SATELLITE YEAR have created a unique fusion between pop, electro and melodic post-punk with their debut album, Mission: Polarlights (LP, 2011), produced by Andrea Fusini (Fusix Studio, Turin), finished and mastered by Alessandro Vanara.
The German sextet succeeds in presenting a mixture of playful sounds paired with the rough edges of life, a musical nexus of emotion, reality and hope.
Director Thorsten Hary describes the clip as a soundtrack video shot over eight or so days, for a movie that does not exist. Borrowing from well-established action and spy movie clichés, this is Thorsten’s humble homage to $100 million+ Hollywood action films, but done on a tiny budget.
